Smuggler Mine
Tour that goes about 1,100 ft into Smuggler mine, where the world's largest silver nugget (1,840 pounds) was found in 1894. 1 to 2 hour tour. About #20 for adults. Buttermilk Mountain
Downhill ski mountain is great for beginners and those wanting to learn how to ski in Aspen.

Krabloonik
Dog sled rides in Snowmass Village in Aspen
Krabloonik's is located just outside of Aspen and can be found in the Snowmass slopes. A two-hour sled ride pulled by an eleven dog team and a trained musher through the white wilderness. The huskies are born and bred here, and they are an amazing group. In the summer they become a sort of petting kennel.

Independence Ghost Town
Visitors can tour the remnants of this former mining town, deserted in the late 1800s after a severe storm knocked out supply routes.

Aspen Art Museum
Founded in 1979, the Aspen Art Museum is recognized internationally for presenting outstanding exhibitions with a particular emphasis on contemporary art. The museum is housed in an historic brick building located along the scenic Rio Grande Trial near the heart of Aspen. Stimulating year-round programming includes numerous art workshops for children, teens and adults, free public lectures, docent tours, site rentals, special events, and members' art trips.
