I’ve been to a lot of Aquariums during my day and have been impressed and disappointed by the same Aquarium. While Staying in Atlanta my family and I took a trip to the Georgia Aquarium and I have to say that I was fully impressed by this establishment. It isn’t your standard through aquarium where you get to see the fish and then go home. No, the Georgia Aquarium was far more engaging. There was staff all throughout the Aquarium that were very helpful and had a wealth of information on the hundreds of animals in each and every tank. Humans weren’t the only thing you get to interact with while at the Aquarium there is a petting tank that allows gets to gently feel the back of the busy sting rays. It’s a great experience and kids love it. The petting tank is cool and all but my favorite part of the Georgia is the Ocean Voyager tank. It is the biggest tank I have had the pleasure of viewing. It has a wopping 6.3 million gallons of saltwater holds 4 Whales sharks, 4 gigantic Manta Rays, giant groupers, sharks, and thousands of other fish. This is the only place in the US where you can find manta rays. Viewing this tank is an experience all in its own there is a 100 foot long tunnel that you can walk through that leads along the tank floor or a 61 foot long by 23 foot tall viewing area. Its made from acrylic and is 2 feet thick. If you want to really get up and personally with the fish you can ever dive in this tank. It is truly a once in a life time opportunity.

Atlanta can be a fun place to visit. There is lots to do and lots to see. It’s a big city with lots of people which means lots of places to eat. All you need to do to find a place is turn off 75 and you are bound to drive right into 3 or 4 restaurants. Parking is where Atlanta gets to be really annoying. The city is packed with buildings on every block and finding a parking space can be like finding a needle in a hay stack. If you find one be careful and be sure to look out for parking rules. I was traveling with my in-laws and it was a Sunday morning. We found a lot across from the breakfast place we wanted to eat at and decided since the businesses were all closed on Sunday it wouldn’t be a big deal. We parked and walked across the single lane street. We ate at the Flying Biscuit Café which was delicious and I would recommend any of their many locations to eat at. There was a line and it took us about two hours to get seated and eat. The food was worth it however and the biscuits were delicious. I was disappointed that they didn’t fly through the air, but they did fly right off our plates. After breakfast we went back to our cars to find boot on my in-laws car. It was a real shocker and shortly after we discovered it a large man with dreads walked across the parking lot towards us and demanded 80 bucks to take the boot off because it was a private parking lot. It was a sting they owners of the property set up. The moral of this story is to look very well for the small signs about parking or take a cap. If you can find parking or avoid the parking scams while in Atlanta you are bound to have a great time.
