There is a little place in Little Rock Arkansas that you might want to visit and you might not have even known it existed. When traveling I little to look for fun things to do and ill typically take an amusement park over a museum but I decided to give the Little Rock Central High Museum a chance. I’m sure glad I did because it was a wonderful time. The museum is actually an old high school. Why is it an old high school you may ask? Well because for one it’s a beautiful building and they don’t make high schools like this anymore and secondly because the high school’s roll in the desegrating schools. Prior to the mid 1950’s Little Rock was a mostly if not completely a white school. 9 African American students persisted going to Little Rock High and really stirred the pot. It lead to major changes and greatly affected the African American Movement. Today the High School is a museum that preserves that rich history and helps to remind its visitors about how the world used to be. Admission is free which is great for large families or if you are on a budget.

There is a little chain of restaurants that you can only find in Arkansas and its most likely because the it takes a person from Arkansas to make it work. The Whole Hog Café has become a local sensation, serving up the best BBQ you can find. They serve partially the whole hog and for a great price. Family owned the three locals are staffed by locals who love BBQ and want to share their great food with as many people as possible. Open for lunch and dinner they serve up a selection of pulled pork, beef brisket, pulled chicken, pork loin, smoked sausage, ribs, and whole chickens. I come from a log line of BBQ lovers and I can assure you Whole Hog Café is at the top of my list for places to eat. You can come any day of the week and it is consistently good. You don’t have to worry about who is working all their employees are great the food the a level above other restaurants. The sauces put Whole Hog above the competition as well. There are 7 different sauces to choose from but just be sure that you don’t grab the volcano sauce. It is an experience that I would never wish on a fellow BBQ lover. The rest of the sauces are absoultly fantastic. There is something for everyone and each one was made with love and care.
