Things to do in New Orleans

Sedgwick County Zoo Kentucky is known for many things and Louisville in particular is known for one very popular horse race. The Kentucky Derby is a huge event each year and is a large piece of history for Louisville. It only stands to reason that there is a massive Kentucky Derby Museum to keep track of all the history that has been made through the course of the exciting race. The museum was first open to the public way back in 1985 and has been welcoming over 210,000 guests annually to enjoy the many wonders of the Derby History. The museum isn’t all about history. Its also about teaching guests about horse racing and what a jockey does. The entire museum was recently renovated from top to bottom and many new and exciting interactive exhibits have been placed. One of which is great for teenagers and young kids who want to hob onto a horse and see what its like to be a jockey. The interactive exhibit lets guests mount a horse and try to hold the jockey stance for two whole minutes. At first its easy but as the seconds tick by it puts more and more strain on the rider. It is really a great was to show the massive physical strain that jockeys are put under. The Derby Museum is a wonderful place for of history that is a great place to take the family for a nice day out.

Where to eat in New Orleans

Oceana Grill New Orleans is home to a type of food that can only be found here. Creole is a special type of cooking that take years to master and an impressive understanding of spices and herbs. If there was one word to describe creole besides creole it would have to be flavor. If a dish is going to be a creole dish it is going to be backed with flavor and have a nice kick on it. While in New Orleans I found a great seafood place that really knew how to flavor their food. Each and every bite was an explosion of flavor. Oceana was the name and it served up the best Gumbo-steaks and oysters you can find. I really loved this place because the oyster bar. Just walk up the bar and order any number of oyster you want. 10, 20, 30, even 100 oysters, the bar is always stocked and ready to cut open fresh oysters for you. The menu was large so if seafood isn’t your cup of tea don’t worry there is a section of chicken and beef dishes that are equally as delicious. Pricing at Ocean Grill is about 20 to 25 a plate when ordering seafood which is a small price for the level of service which the Oceana Grill provides. It’s a great experience each and every time I go.
