Everything is better when there is a lion. Well I can think of a few places that might be better without a lion but let’s face it lions are awesome. They demand your attention because of their peaty and power. The last time I had the opportunity to witness a lion first hand was while visiting the Sedgwich County Zoo. Located conveniently in Wichita it’s a great place to take the family and spend a day enjoying the many wonderful animals which they provide homes to. Admission prices to the zoo change seasonally but for regular admission adults 12 to 61 get in for $13.95 and kids under the age of 11 are just $8.95. The inside of the park is designed so animals of the same geographic area are together. As you walk through the zoo and get to enjoy the many beautiful animals you will go through North American, Asia, Africa, Australia, South American, jungle and even an area for Amphibians and Reptiles. The Sedgwich County Zoo is a great place to visit and is ranked as one of the best zoos in the US. It has well over three thousand animals of nearly 400 species. As I said above lions are awesome and I love being able to view them but this park also had a great selection of big tigers. The rich orange and black coat on these animals are just absolutely perfect. This zoo is a great place and I would recommend it as a great place for family and friends to visit.

If there is one thing that can get me out of bed in the morning is a warm delicious donut. There is something about a freshly fried donut that just gets the blood moving. While traveling through Wichita Kansas I discovered that my love of donuts was not mine alone and that a donut wasn’t just for breakfast but was a great item to eat any time of day. I stumbled across the Daunt whole and was blown away by the variety of different donuts they had for sale. I was always amazed by the ingredients that they used. The entire donut is sourced locally. The buttermilk comes right from a Kansas bakery, the flour is milled in Stafford county, the eggs, and butter both come from other nearby farms. It is truly something special when a local store is helping to support other local companies. Its what America is all about and we should really see more businesses act like it. Besides the great ingredients and staff the donuts really shine all on their own. These aren’t your normal everyday donut , they are gourmet and have gourmet flavors. My personal favorite which is a little bit desert and breakfast is beach cobbler. Yes, a donut that is peach cobbler flavored. I was put off at first but after taking my first bite I was sold and would eat any flavor that the donut Whole put in front of me.
