• Franklin Mountains State Park
  Covering 37 square miles and measuring more than 24,247 acres, Franklin Mountains State Park is America's biggest urban park. You can enjoy the natural grandeur of this park by mountain biking, horse-back riding, hiking or going on a tour led by a ranger.

• Painted Dunes Golf Course
  Experience a championship-level golf course in the middle the desert. Carved out of the Chihuahua Desert, three-fourths of the courses lie at the foothills of the Franklin Mountains. This offers a breath-taking view of the beauty of the Texas desert landscape while you tee-off.

• Hueco Tanks State Historic Site
  Named after the natural rock basins that have been capturing precious rain-water for millennia, the Hueco Tanks State Historic Site is a wonderful place to visit while you're in El Paso. There are also thousands of pictographs on the rocks drawn by the previous peoples that came to the basins in search of water.

• El Paso Museum of Art
  Housing more than 5,000 pieces of artwork, including American art from the 19th-20th centuries, Mexican colonial art from the 18th-19th centuries, and the Samuel H. Kress Collection of European art from the 13th-18th centuries; this museum is THE fine arts museum of the City of El Paso.

• Chamizal National Memorial
  This park honors the cooperation and good will of two countries in a 50-acre estate. The Chamizal Treaty of 1963 was a huge stepping stone in diplomatic relations between Mexico and the United States; it settled a century long border dispute. There's also a trail that circles the park and offers views of the Juarez and Franklin mountains.

• Insights Science Museum
  With 60 plus exhibits covering everything from health and biology to energy and optics, the Insights Science Museum is a great museum for the younger crowd. Some exhibits of notoriety are the sound exhibit (which has something called an "Echo Tube") and the Telsa Coil that produces over half a million volts of electricity daily.

• National Border Patrol Museum
  This museum presents any and everything that has to deal with the defense of the national border. There are exhibits on the electronics used, ground vehicles deployed, and on the Border Patrol dogs too.

• El Paso Zoo
  Home to more than 600 animals of over 250 species, this eighteen-acre zoo also provides a diverse array natural habitat exhibits for those animals. Some exhibits of note are the Elephant Complex, Asian Grasslands, Birds of Prey and the Reptile House.

• El Paso-Juarez Trolley
  This "Border Jumper" trolley sets out from El Paso and stops at 9 locations before ending up in Juarez, Mexico. Some of the best stops are the ones that leave you in the city market (stops 8 & 9). You'll the opportunity to shop around and have lunch outdoors while you listen to live mariachi bands.
