It first started out as a historic mansion and in 1863 the building got its name "Martini" from the owners surname. It is known to be a very romantic spot to dine and wine. The view from the terrace is of the La Fenice theatre. It has a very elegant touch to it with the china dishes that have a handmade decor.

The Alla Madonna restaurant opened in 1954 and is located in one of the nicest places in Venice. This is one of the most upscale restaurants in Venice. They often have cultural characters visit them to enjoy their traditional style cuisines. Things To Do In Venice

The carnival of Venice was first recognized in 1268. It started with the masks which have always been the center of any celebration in Venice. Most people would wear the masks on a regular basis. When the city was taken over by the Austrians the carnivals were put on hold for almost two centuries. It wasn't until the 1980's that the carnivals were revived!

The naval Museum is in the south-eastern part of Venice. This museum is in remembrance of the sailing nations of Venetians. They have their biggest hidden secrets inside this museum. The building on the outside isn't as nice as it is on the inside.

The Saint Mark Basilica is one of the most popular church in Venice. Its a monument that is a unique historic style from Italian and European artists. This church sits on St. Marks Square and connected to the Doge's Palace. This museum was originally built in 828 as a temporary building and then they rebuilt it in 832. It then burnt down in 976 and rebuilt again in 978. The exterior of the building in separated into three different parts, the lower, upper, and domes. The horses on the front of the building were built in about 1254. This church/museum is always busy with visitors enjoying the very historic sights.
