Phoenix Art Museum
the Phoenix Art Museum has become the southwest's
biggest destination for visual arts from around the world, occupying
285,000 square feet displaying international exhibitions beside the
museum's comprehensive collection of over 18,000 works of Latin
American, Asian, European, American, Western American, modern and
contemporary art, as well as fashion design. The museum has become a
community center, providing the community with a year round schedule
of live performances, festivals, educational programs and
independent art films. This fabulous museum houses nine curatorial
departments that include; modern, American, fashion, western
American, Latin American, Asian, European, contemporary and
photography. Some of the most famous artists in the world have their
works showcased here and include; Eastman Johnson, Robert Henri,
John Singleton Copley, William Merritt Chase, George Inness, Georgia
O'Keefe, Fitz Henry Lane, Maynard Dixon, Albert Bierstadt, Martin
Ernest Hennings, Bill Owen, Chuck Forsman, Frederic Remington,
Walter Ufer and Ernest Blumenschein. Old masters include; Jean-Leon
Gerome, Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, Gustave Courbet, Abraham
Janssens, Claude Monet, Francois Boucher, Ferdinand Victor Eugene
Delacroix, George Romney, Auguste Rodin, Jean-Baptiste Greuze and
Antoine-Jean Gros.
