Crabapple Carriage & Buggy Company
Alpharetta, Georgia has
grown into one of the most affluent cities in the state, and has
some impressive companies that have moved here for the great
amenities that can be found, just outside of Atlanta. It sits next
to a spring, and was once just a small campground, until 1858, when
it became a town; which Alpharetta means in Greek; the first town.
Some of the huge companies that have moved here include; AT & T,
Hewlett-Packard, Lucent, Sun Microsystems, IBM, Alltel, General
Electric, Forbes and LexisNexis. Downtown Alpharetta is home
to many beautiful and old historical buildings that were built
during the 19th century and the area is well known for its
historical venues. The best way, or at least one of the most
enjoyable ways to see the city and all its wonderful houses and
other historical venues is to take a horse and buggy ride through
the area, to learn something about its history and see where you
might be interested in visiting. One such company is the Crabapple
Carriage tour company, located in Alpharetta, and owning many
various buggies to ride in; or if you are planning a special
occasion, what better way than to get there in than a horse or
horses and buggy. The "vis-a-vis" is a beautiful white carriage with
red velvet trimmings, and drawn by either one or two horses. The
antique 18th century carriage is a marvelous antique that has been
fully restorated and perfect for the romantic getaways, weddings or
just a close and personal ride with your loved one. It is black with
red velvet trim and pulled by a single horse. The company has a
magnificent hay ride wagon that is painted red and seats 12 for
birthdays or other events that would be exciting in this wonderful
carriage pulled by either single or double team. The wagonette is a
bit bigger, able to carry up to 14 adults, with easy steps to get up
with and pulled by two horses. This new wagon has become quite
popular as it can hold more people and goes anywhere you would want
in the area. The fabulous horses that pull these great wagons are
Clydesdales, which are the best and biggest horses to pull wagons.
These beautiful creatures are named, Clyde, their first; Lloyd,
their hardest worker, that came to the company with another named
Rudy, in 2002. Their first draft horse was Rock, , a Belgian who
left them a few years ago.
