  From what started in 1922 in the bottom 2 rooms on the public library, is now a major Art industry in Akron. The institute was transformed from a school and art center into a museum. • American Toy Marble Museum
  In 1991 a few people gathered collections of Akron Marbles and set up an exhibition. They then traveled and displayed the marbles all over the United States. The American Toy Marble Museum was the first toy marble factory in the USA .When they finally found a place to settle and in May of 2002, the museum opened its doors to the public.  In the middle of the museum, the city built a 15-foot, octagon shaped, clay marbles ring for our children’s programming, the Akron District Marbles Tournament and the All-American Marbles Championship. • MAPS Aircraft Museum
  At the Aircraft museum their Hangar is filled with over 30 great aircrafts from the first glider to aircraft used to day in our Military System. On display is the life of Reamer E. "Buzz" Sewell from over 60 years ago where he served during World War II. The Museum is an awesome place to check out for those of you that are historic war buffs. • Hower House
   Active in the milling, a leading Akron industrialist named John Henry Hower, completed his house in 1871. The house was lived in by himself, his wife and son. After Hower and his son had died, Howers wife continued to live there. The house was occupied by the Howers family until 1970 when it was handed over to The University of Akron. In 1973, Hower House was placed on the National Register for Historic Places. The house sits on 2 1/2 acres.
