Florida
Many believe that it is the fantastic weather in Florida that
brings all these folks to enjoy the many outdoor events and
festivals that happen yearlong in the Sunshine State. Throughout the
state there are continuous venues occurring that bring people from all over
the world and of course the United States. Jacksonville has its annual
jazz festival, which is free and held in May. This weekend starts the annual
festivities at Daytona, with the start of the Rolex 24, then Daytona 500, then
Bikeweek, Black College Week, Spring Break and oh my! Pensacola has its Gallery
Nights, Winter Park has its Sidewalk Arts Festival during March, and on May 1,
Polk County starts its Concert Under the Stars. Towards the end of the year, in
November, Miami holds its sleepless night on the 7th, where over 100 performances
will be held at 80 different venues throughout the city. Bonita Springs has their
marvelous Bonita Blues Festival on March 13, and many outdoor events are held in St.
Petersburg, like the Shakespeare in the Park, the yearly al fresco show in Straub
Park and in October, the Florida Orchestra in the Park is held. Also in October
Clearwater has its Jazz Fest in Coachman Park, in May, Ocala holds its Symphony
Under the Stars, and Mount Dora has its yearly Arts Festival in February, which
has become one of the top 100 festivals in the state. And that is just the al
fresco happenings in the state!
