Things to do in Greenville

Greenville Zoo  South Carolina is a beautiful area and has an amazing climate for animals. Greenville especially has a great climate and during the summer it feels great to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. There isnt a better place in Greensville to enjoy the sun then at the Greensville Zoo. For just $7.75 adults can get into the zoo to explore the many different animals that the zoo has to offer. Kids from ages of 3-15 get in for only $4.50. There is a large assortment of animals to see and enjoy while at the Greenville zoo. The most popular is of course the lion you can also find giraffe not away from them. Make sure you bring change as there is feeding machines and the Giraffes can come up and eat from your hand. If you have even been to Florida then you will be right at home in some of their other exhibits because of the Flamingo, Duck, and alligator exhibit. The Greensville zoo is a great place to take your family and speed the day it will keep you busy all day long. On your way in make sure you keep your eyes open because you won't want to miss the elephant exhibit. My favorite while I was there was surprisingly the Tortoise exhibit there is just something about those large hard shell creatures that live for hundreds of years. There was a collection of birds that made a lot of noise the toucans and hornbills. On the cuter side you will be able to see the small Red pandas and the beautiful leopard. The Greensville Zoo is a great place to visit and bring your family. It will keep you busy for hours on end and it will teach your kids about the wonders of the animal kingdom.

What to explore in Greenville

Upcountry History Musuem   Even South Carolina gets a little warm during the summer time and you might want to make your way inside, if that is the case then you should check out the heritage Green. Heritage Green is a complex located in downtown Greensville it is comprised of four different museums The Greenville County Museum of Art, The museum & Gallery at Heritage Green, the Upcountry History Museum, and The Children's Museum. While at the Heritage Green Campus I would start with the Greensville County Museum of Art, simply because its a small beautifully gem, and better then anything else its free. The best collection that The Art Museum has to offer is th e Andrew Wyeth: The Greensville collection, with a newly added donation it has expanded to thirty-five painting and includes a piece from every major period of Andrew Wyeth's career. After visiting the art museum you should stop into the Museum & Gallery this museum does have an admission price worth the few dollars to get in adults are $5 and students get in for $3. Their collection consists of the Old Master paintings. It is th elargest collection of European Old Master paintings in America. The Museum and Gallery also has a Russian Icon Collection that rages from the 14th through the 20th century it has pieces associated with Romanovs, which was the last ruling family in Russia. After exploring the rich culture of Russian art you should take a trip over to the upcountry history museum. At this museum you will find more down to art and country art. The museum is also paired with the Furman university so art classes and workshops are also offered at the upcountry history museum.
