Helfrich Outfitter Inc. Have you ever wondered what it might be like to take a river trip? Now I’m not talking about drifting down a river for a few hours then hoping in a car and driving home. I am talking about a 4 to 5 day river trip with camping and long hours on the water. Oregon is the perfect place for river trips as it has some of the clearest rivers in the US. There is also a name that goes along with river trips in Oregon and Idaho and its is Helfrich. Helfrich runs trips on Middle Fork Salmon River, Rogue River, Lower Main Salmon River and the McKenzie River. Trips range from single day to 6 days and 5 nights at the longest. Trips are surprisingly expensive with a 3 day 2 night trip being $1450 a person and a 6 day 5 night trip in a drift board being $3114 a person. That is little high but it includes all meals lodging and transportation. The 6 day trip is on the Salmon river namely the middle fork. It is the most sold trip and the best there is to offer. What to explore in Springfield

Hop Valley There is something special about a restaurant when it is also a brewery. There is just a extra since or pride that goes into it. In Oregon there are many restaurant but there is only one Hop Valley. Hop Valley is a Brewing company that expanded it roots and created what I would say is the best restaurant and sports bar in the Springfield area. That of course is only my opinion and you will have to try Hop Valley out for your self. On the Brewery side they over a large selection of Beers in the restaurant they range from 4 to 5 bucks a glass. There are 8 regular beers always available to the public and 3 seasonal brews that are always a hit. Lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant the Dinner menu is open for lunch but there is always an express lunch menu that has small partitions and great pricing at just 7 bucks. Dinner is where Hop Valley really shines with an entrée for everyone in the family. Hop Valley offers two great angus beef steaks a 10oz sirloin or a 12oz ribeye each has its own special rub. No brewery would be complete without a great fried chicken plate. At Hop Valley it’s a special sort of fried chicken because they take a chicken breast then stuff it with dark meat before breading and frying it, the fried chicken is served with homemade mashed potato’s, seasonal veggies, and a buttermilk roll.
