Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway & Hall of Fame Museum
is located five miles from downtown Indianapolis. Also located
on the grounds of the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway, is
recognized as one of the most prestigious museums in the world
devoted to automobiles and auto racing. In 1987, the museum along
with the Speedway grounds were honored as a National Historic
Landmark. When you visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway be sure to
experience the bus tour around the historic 2.5 mile oval Speedway.
If you happen to be visiting during May, along with an estimated
250,000 additional visitors during the month of the annual
Indianapolis 500 Mile Race. The Hall of Fame Museum is open
year round except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Showcased in The Hall of Fame Museum are approximately 75 vehicles
on display at all times, along with equipment & methods used for
timing and scoring the Indianapolis 500 from the first race to the
21st century. Visitors have the opportunity to see the
extensive trophy collection including the famous Borg-Warner Trophy
which honors the winner of each Indianapolis 500, additional auto
racing trophies, and awards & honors from around the world.
Complete your visit to The Hall of Fame Museum and experience first
hand the Indianapolis 500 in the 48-seat Tony Hulman Theater,
showing a twenty-minute presentation of rare, historic footage and
Indianapolis 500 highlights. The Indianapolis Motor
Speedway is home to the Brickyard 400, Red Bull Indianapolis GP and
the Indianapolis 500. If racing is your passion, you won't
