Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site
Living for about six years from 1838 to 1844 in Philadelphia, Poe dedicated his
life to writing. Many of his tales such as "Murders in the Rue
Morgue" and "The Pit and the Pendulum" were written while he lived on North 7th
Street. Subsequently, congress chose this site as a national memorial to Edgar
Poe life and times. The Poe house provides a eight-minute film on Poe's life,
biology and critical information. A tour can be taken to walk through the
house were Poe actually lived. The house remains unfurnished because all of his
belongings have vanished.

Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia
The central bank is a network of 12 banks which are responsible for the Third
District covering eastern Pennsylvania, state of Delaware, and southern New
Jersey. Philadelphia was the home of the first bank of the United States.
Consisting of depository institutions, local business, consumers, investors
creates a varied constituency. Several exhibits are available for viewing such
as the Money in Motion which helps the visitor understand the complex
relationships of money, banking and the Federal Reserve.

Franklin Court
Moving from Boston to Philadelphia at the age of 17, Franklin is perhaps the
most fascinating personality in revolutionary times. Aside from begin a great
statesman, he was a printer, inventor, author, Postmaster, publisher and much
more. Today, visitors can view the area where the Postal Service Museum,
Franklin and Print Shop are all located. Take a journey below the court
and discover a museum filled with paintings, glass harmonica, a piece
written by Mozart, and other Franklin inventions.
