Portland Saturday Market
The brainchild of two women, it started with the concept to create a
market in downtown Portland similar to the market they sold at in
Eugene. Incorporating under the name Portland Saturday Market, PSM became a
non-profit institution for the members and governed by the
members. Offered a "Butterfly lot", members came and set up their
booths on a first come first serve basis. Moving to it's current location
under the Burnside Bridge, it began staying open on Sundays also with over
400 members. From March to December the neighborhood transforms
itself with precision into a open-air thriving arts and crafts
marketplace.
