Anaheim, Orange county, California. In the beginning, German farmers came to the land to start their vineyards from Bavaria, calling it Annaheim, which meant "home by the Santa Ana River", in German. The land grew into the Resort, with the Anaheim Convention Center, the Honda Center and finally the Angel Stadium, home to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim; and the face, the entire character of Anaheim metamorphed into a giant tourist mecca with hotels, restaurants, shops, boutiques and more. The city itself recently has seen a beautification project revamp the looks of the city to bring in more tourists. When celebrating its 150 year celebration in 2007, Anaheim opened the Anaheim Walk of Fame and the first placed on the concrete was none other than the man himself; Walter Elias Disney.

There are other attractions in Anaheim besides the Disney complex, the Adventure City, Anaheim Garden Walk, Angel stadium mentioned earlier, as well as the Honda Center, home of the Anaheim Ducks (NHL); which was known as the Arrowhead Pond, the Anaheim Convention Center and the Grove of Anaheim, a music arena; at one time Sun Theater and before that it was known as Tinseltown Studios. The Anaheim Resort RV Park is nearby and offers an alternative to the hotel environment and is still close enough to all the goings on that would be important to the visitor. Plenty of playground sets and jungle bars to allow your children to enjoy the natural wide open spaces of a park, since it would be very expensive spending all of your vacation in Disneyland.

Another awesome place to visit while in the area is the Griffith Observatory, offering an incredible view of the cities and the ocean nearby. Inside are many wonderful and exciting exhibits about space and science related activities. It is especially great now since it has just gone through an extensive renovation. Making it a little bit more exciting is the fact that this observatory has been seen in many of the films and television shows. And finally for the big folks, when the children are all set and you want to try something out of this world, then try the enthralling show done on the Sunset Strip, where every night, the show is different and the costumes are definitely out of this world.
