At one time, the city frowned on anyone wanting to build a skyscraper that would block the view of the capitol building, which became known as the Capitol View Corridor; but during the last decade, many high rises have gone up to make the skyline look much different. The downtown area has slowed its growth due to the current economic trends, but the venues offered haven't changed or slowed down at all.
